On days like this it's pretty much impossible for me to get out of bed! Can I get paid for cuddling with my daughter?

Monday, December 7, 2009

Hello friends and family! Sorry it has taken so long to update the blog but mom, and dad have been keeping busy, and I help keep them busy! A couple of weeks ago we went to the Golden Gate park in San Francisco. Mom and dad did alot of walking and I did alot of sleeping. I was awake when we got into to the Japanese Tea Garden and was happy looking at all the trees until I wet myself and had to be changed right in the middle of the park. It was a chilly day too! But after I was clean I feel right back asleep. I have a hard time staying awake anytime mom takes me out of the house. I think it might be too overwhelming to stay awake for the whole trip. I also like to sleep in my crib now. The day after Thanksgiving mom and dad thought it was time for me to sleep in my bedroom. I can really spread out in my new bed. I also like looking at the butterflies on the wall.
I have some more big news. I can roll over from my belly to my back now! I had been practicing my push ups for over a week and then last Thursday mom went to grab the video camera, and when she got back I was on my back. Since then I have done it several times. I don't think mom has caught on to the fact that I don't like laying on my belly.
Anyways as you can tell by the pictures I am getting bigger. Mom is having fun dressing me up. I can fit into most of my 0-3 month clothes now. It's gotten quite cold here over the past week and there is even snow on the mountain behind the house. I think mom is going to have fun buying some more winter clothes for me. Well thats all for now. It's time for dinner and then I think I might have another crying fit before I go to bed for the night. Enjoy the pictures there's more to come.

Anytime there is a mirror nearby I have to check myself out.
I like being rocked to sleep. Sometimes I get a real treat and daddy will rock and sing to me too.
My first night in my crib! I slept so well that night. Wish mommy could say the same.
Aunt Susan got this outfit for me, and I finally grew into it... well mostly.
"I don't understand why they want me to look at the camera. Mommys face is much more interesting!"

OUR TWO BABIES

.............................................The cheapest photographer we found out here charged just over three thousand dollars. I spent one hundered and made a makeshift studio here at the house. Here is Ella looking very serious and, if you ask me, very cute (as always)!

Ella is really starting to smile a lot and we just love it!

TRICK OR TREAT!!

I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! We had more kids come to our door tonight then we have in the past 4 years combined!!! Ofcourse the only treat Ella got tonight was a bottle of milk and a warm bath. We tried placing her in the pumpkin because Ben thought it would make a great pic but we soon realized that there was no way for Ella to sit in it by herself. Plus this mini photoshot was a stressfull one since the ground was still wet, and Ella was telling us it was time for some more food. Overall things are going well here. The weather has been really pleasant. Chilly and sometimes cold in the mornings and evenings and low 70's mid-day. Ella has been eating well for the most part. On Thursday she weighed in at 8lbs 2 oz. But she is definatly a slow eater. Doesn't matter if she is on the bottle or breast. She likes to take her time. It's odd that Ben and I would be the parents of a slow eater since our dinner table seems like a food eating contest. Anyways we are slowly getting to a schedule. Getting any chores done in the house are challenging since Ella eats so slow, and is fussy most days that she is awake. She is very paticular, and lets you know immediatly what she dislikes. Right now her favorite place in the house is the swing. She loves to sit and look at the mobile and often falls asleep in the chair. But since its downstairs it gives me little to do. I tried moving her upstairs during her nap so I could take a shower and have her near but I only got half way through the shower before she woke up and realized she wasn't in her chair anymore. Oh well. Who needs to get dressed and take a shower anyways? ;)

Grandma Mac's visit!

We had a great visit with Grandma Mac, and she is definatly missed. Trying to take care of an infant, and yourself is definatly harder then I thought. Just when you thought it was safe to sit down and rest Ella wets herself or decides she's finally hungry. The pic to the left is when she decided to pee during a changing. My mom had not quite got the diaper on Ella when she decided to pee again. Since that event I've been quick to put those diapers on.
Im happy to report that Ella has been making huge weight gains over the past week. We are continuing to breastfeed but with the occasional bottle of formula, and that seems to be the best feeding plan for both mom and baby. On Friday Ella weighed a little over 7 lbs and then on Tuesday she weighed a hefty 7 lbs 7 oz. Typically a baby gaines an ounce a day but I think she is trying to make up for lost time.
Ella has also started to track objects with her eyes and is much more alert during the day.... and night. She is
definatly starting to show her own
unique personality.

On our way!

On our way to the Doctor!!! This pic was taken right before her first visit with the MD. Since then we have made the trip many times and she is starting to like the car rides. As you can tell by the look on her face here she was not thrilled to be in the car seat.

Ella June Glanville has finally arrived!
After almost 29 hours of natural labor she made her apperance on 9/20/09 at 7:12 pm. She was 7 lbs 1 ounce and 19 inches long and has a face full of expressions already. It's apparent that she has her daddys hair and ears, and the shape of my eyes and possibly my stuborness. (you got your wish mom I have a daughter just like me) The first week home has been a challenging one filled with sleepless nights, and concern over her jaundice. But we are happy to say that her jaundice is getting much better and Ben and I are getting more sleep because we are getting a schedule down. It's amazing that she has only been apart of this family a week and she already has us trained! It seems so unreal that she is here already. We are so in love with her! So is Baxter. Anytime she makes a peep he comes running up to make sure she is ok. Dont worry there will be more pics to come soon. The camera is always out ! So keep posted!

Only moments after she was born...

The family, back at home at last!

The view up our street, it's such a great place to live, clean and quiet...
Baxter loves having stairs and carpet, here he's seen reigning supreme over all his peons (Alyssa and Me)...

Heres a view of our small backyard and garage.
I've been experimenting with shooting through my 5" Parabolic telescope. This is the moon the other night, it's VERY difficult to shoot the moon accurately because a white object against a black sky almost always "washes out". Ben

Holy pregnant and tired!!!! Looks like Im about to fall over.

Here is a couple of photos of the completed nursery. Later on we might be adding a book shelf or a night stand but for now the room is complete. I think Ben and I have had our share of setting up the house and decorating. We are ready to take a break and put other tasks on hold. Well.... I am but Ben keeps adding things to his list of "To Dos". Ben did a great job adding the chair rail and painting. We were hoping to stain the rocking chair to match the rest of the furniture but I'm fine with it the way it is currently. Hopefully in just a few short weeks I will be sitting in that chair with Ella!

Here's our hummingbird. He's always hanging out by our front porch. We are going to get a few more feeders and see if we can get a flock of them around our house.

Getting close...

Well... here it is. A new belly shot for those of you who like looking at pale beach ball size bellies. The last pic we took before this was about 31 weeks, and this photo here is the end of the 36th week. This week I will be 37 weeks. In case I have not updated any of you personally on the Ultrasound we had last week everything went well. Originally the MD sent me for a third US because he thought I was a bit small for the gestational period but Ella is proportionate, and looks healthy. The Ultrasound Tech said that it wouldn't be surprising if she was late by a week. So we are thinking she will make her apperance the end of Sept or beggining of Oct. Obviously Im hoping for Sept but I know she will come when she wants. I think I might have "dropped" this weekend because I can walk across the house without feeling short of breath now, and my pelvis and low back are EXTREMLY uncomfortable. Sorry no pic of the house or Ellas room yet. I haven't been much help to Ben with the finishing touches, not like he would let me help anyways. I've been sleeping like a champ all weekend. I took two naps today! But as soon as the room is complete I will take some pics and post them. And as soon as I can get into photoshop I will post some pics of our new friend the humming bird. He loves to hang out by our front porch. Anyways thats all for now. I'll try and keep you updated on the progress.

August 21,2009

Hey everyone! Thanks to Shannon I'm getting a grip on blogging and created a family blog to keep everyone updated on the all the new events in our life. And there will be alot of new events here in the next few months ;) Hopefully I can keep up with the site, and learn how to use it as Ben and I are kind of new to blogging. So for now postings will be brief and uneventfull while we are learning, and still setting up the house, preparing for baby. But I hope we will get lots of visitors, and I cant wait to start sharing photos with everyone once Ella arrives.
